The High Commission of the Republic of Maldives in Singapore was established in November 2007 and H. E. Mr Hassan Sobir was accredited as the first Resident High Commissioner of Maldives to Singapore. The High Commission was officially opened by His Excellency Mr. Fathullah Jameel, the then Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Government of Maldives proposed to establish a resident diplomatic mission in Singapore on 2nd October 2007.
