Ahmed Thasmeen Ali is the High Commissioner of Maldives to the Republic of Singapore. He was appointed by His Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on 25th August 2022 and presented his Credentials to Madam President Halimah Yacob of Singapore on 25th October 2022.


Ahmed Thasmeen Ali was a career politician who served as a Member of Parliament from 1995 to 2014 and was the Deputy Speaker of Parliament from 2005 to 2008 and Majority Leader of Parliament from 2010 to 2011.  He also served as Minister of Home Affairs from 2005 to 2007 and Minister of Atolls Administration from 2007 to 2008. Ahmed Thasmeen Ali has a Bachelor of Arts degree (Economics and Political Science) from the University of Warwick. Ahmed Thasmeen Ali is married to Visam Ali and has a daughter.
