A virtual reception was held to celebrate the 55th Independence Day of the Maldives on the 17th of August 2020.
The reception was graced by a message by the Chief Guest, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Transport of Singapore His Excellency Chee Hong Tat.
The reception was also enriched by messages from the President of the Republic of Maldives His Excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih , Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives His Excellency Abdulla Shahid, Acting High Commissioner Ms Eman Hussain and Minister of Tourism His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, in his capacity as the Former High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Singapore.
Independence Day greetings were conveyed during the reception from the diplomatic community.
The reception was attended by the Diplomats in Singapore, Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore and the Maldivian Community in Singapore.
