High Commission of the Maldives in Singapore in collaboration with Singapore Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries (SICCI), organized a webinar entitled “Investment opportunities in Maldives”, facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture. Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology and Housing Development Cooperation on 31st May 2022.
In line with the government’s initiatives, the webinar was aimed to strengthen trade and investment, provide information to foreign investors and networking between relevant government agencies and foreign investors. During the session, the government agencies provided an outline of the investment
opportunities in their respective sector and their vision for broadening the economic base by diversifying their economic landscape.
The opening remarks was delivered by the High Commissioner of Maldives to Singapore H E Mr. Ibrahim Shaheeb. Highlighting the good relations between the High Commission and SICCI, the High Commissioner said that this was an important first step towards even greater cooperation as development partners.
Dr. T Chandroo, Chairman of SICCI, in his remarks welcomed the webinar and thanked the Government of Maldives for the information regarding investment opportunities in Maldives. He further stated that the members of SICCI are excited by these investment prospects and look forward to working with Maldives.
Deputy High Commissioner Ms. Eman Hussain, in her concluding remarks, thanked all the stakeholders for their good collaboration and support with co-ordination by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in hosting this webinar.
