- All passengers travelling to the Maldives are required to hold a negative result for a nucleic acid test (PCR test) for COVID-19 or a Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate showing the completion of the required doses of a vaccine type authorized for Covid- 19 by the competent authorities of the respective countries.
- Tourists travelling to the Maldives will be provided visa on arrival. Tourists must have a hotel reservation confirmation for the entire stay in a registered tourist facility.
- Expatriates travelling to the Maldives shall hold a valid visa issued by Maldives lmmigration.
- For passengers holding Covid- l9 Vaccination Certificates, the Operating Airlines must ensure that;
- Vaccination Certificate is for a vaccine that has been approved by the World Health Organization Emergency Use Listing (EUL) or the Maldives Food and Drug Authority, or any other competent authority of the respective countries.
- The passenger has completed the second dose or prescribed dose(s) of the Vaccine, and at least l4 (fourteen) days have passed after the second dose or the completion of prescribed dose(s)
- The Vaccine Certificate contains;
- Full Name and Date of birth of the Passenger
- Name of the Vaccine (brand name)
- Dates of receiving both the doses or prescribed dose(s)
- Name of Institution/Organization that administered the vaccine
- The following categories of passengers must hold a negative result for a nucleic acid test (PCR Test) for COVID-19 prior to entry into the Maldives.
- Expatriates arriving to the Maldives to work at;
- Health Facilities
- Day care centres
- Schools
- Residential care services
- Airline/aircraft crew entering without the required Covid- l9 Vaccination Certificate and whose transit stay in the Maldives;
- is arranged in an accommodation other than a designated transit facility and/or;
- Duration of stay will exceed seven days.
- Crew of ships who arrive by air to sign onto a ship, entering without the required Covid- l9 Vaccination Certificate
- Expatriates arriving to the Maldives to work at;
The PCR Test document containing the test result should state;
- Name of the passenger (name as in passport)
- Name and address of the testing laboratory
- Type of test stated as PCR Test
- Date of sampling
- Result
Passengers travelling with PCR Test document must have the PCR Test be taken not more than 96 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure from the first port of embarkation en-route to the Maldives.
lf the passenger makes a transit during the journey, the initial PCR Test will be valid if the transit does not exceed 24 hours.
lf the passenger makes a transit exceeding 24 hours, the passenger must take a repeat PCR test within 96 hours prior to embarkation at the port of transit.
The Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate and PCR Test result may be presented in paper or electronic form during airline check-in and if required at arrival.
